Freud was founded by Marco Jansen in 2008.
Marco grew up on a farm in Hammondsport, where he learned great food starts with great ingredients. As an immigrant who fell in love with American ice cream, he became obsessed with creating the freshest flavors possible.
Today he partners with local farmers to craft ice creams that honor his roots and adopted home.

How it all began
How it all began
It all started with a broken-down ice cream truck Marco bought for five hundred dollars and fixed up himself.
He sold homemade flavors at farmers markets on weekends, building relationships with the farmers who supplied his ingredients at Freud’s NYC outlet.
